MARGO MARTIN began her career with an education in fine arts and the visual arts. Her natural curiosity led to a career in travel and event management. In the 1980’s she moved into a house with a decrepit yard. Working the land and determined to beautify her tiny plot, she became smitten with gardening and developed a particular interest in the challenges of small urban gardens.
Following her passion for gardening, she enrolled in the George Brown College Garden Design Program, from which she is a graduate. Seeking practical, hands-on experience, she worked for a landscape maintenance company where she cared for both private and commercial gardens. After more than 30 years of gardening experience, she returned to her artistic roots and launched Margo Martin Garden Design, a design and consulting business.
"We consider Margo to be A1 in her field. She created a fabulous design for our front garden and amazed us with her design skills and knowledge of plants." —C. Landers and A. MacInnis

Our design philosophy
AT MARGO MARTIN GARDEN DESIGN, we are passionate about the gardens and landscapes we create. Regardless of their size or complexity, each is timeless, combining modern elements with traditional techniques and materials. They mature comfortably and display a high level of thought and detail in every season. We believe that gardens should be more than simply beautiful, but should deeply enrich the lives of those who enter them. Whether they be tranquil escapes or expansive places for entertaining, our gardens are a stylistic extension of each client’s home and a unique expression of their needs and personality.
